Forty-Second Ordinance Implementing the Federal Immission Control Act is in effect.
Lawmakers have brought in tougher requirements for the use of evaporation coolers with this ordinance. Knowledge of the technical regulations, particularly page 2 of VDI [Association of German Engineers] Standard 2047, is an essential requirement for effective risk management and for precautions to prevent damage in operation.
Operators of existing equipment for which no lab tests were carried out when this ordinance came into effect had, as at 16 September 2017, to have the first regular lab test on their industrial water carried out by an accredited laboratory.
